US Highway 98 Utility Relocation

The Emerald Coast is a popular spot for vacationers seeking tropical white-sand beaches and clear blue-green water in the continental United States. US Highway 98 stretches from Eastern Florida to Western Mississippi with a span running along the Gulf of Mexico through the panhandle of Florida that includes Destin and Miramar Beaches. Destin and Miramar Beach continue to set ever higher record tourist numbers year over year. To better accommodate traffic flow in the area, the Florida DOT is widening US Hwy 98 from four to six lanes and this widening necessitated a relocation of the existing utilities to locations outside of the travel lanes of the roadway.
