Using ultraviolet (UV) light technology in cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) installations has traditionally required the liner construction to be based almost solely on the use of fiberglass to provide structural integrity and allow for the penetration of UV light. Unfortunately, fiberglass has excessively high physical properties and a high price tag. An innovative development in felt tube construction resulted in the development of a felt-based, UV-cured CIPP technology. Several segments were recently successfully installed in Florida.
