The development of a new pork processing facility in Wright County, Iowa prompted the need to construct a new force main for effluent flows from the facility to a water reclamation facility in the City of Eagle Grove. The new force main would traverse about five miles from the new processing facility south of the city.
ISG, a multi-disciplinary and employee owned design firm, managed the design of the force main along with a lift station at the processing facility and a water reclamation facility at the City of Eagle Grove. Based on the estimated effluent flows, ISG determined that they needed a pipe with a 16-inch inside diameter. After evaluating different materials, they decided to go with 16-inch DR 25 AWWA C900 PVC pressure pipe as the specified pipe material for the alignment.
